Vegazzi: Delicious Vegan Pizza in Budapest

Hungary, a country famous for its beef goulash or pork and cabbage stuffed peppers, is probably not the first country you would think of for vegan food.

Luckily, the Budapest restaurant scene is growing more and more diverse all the time. And as the city becomes more international, the options just keep growing!

My friends and I made good use of the perfect sunny weather this weekend, and by the time we’d finished walking all around the city, we were starving. They’re vegan in Budapest, and had some great recommendations. I have to tell you guys about this dinner we had!

Vegan Pizza in Budapest

Some of my friends showed me one of their favorite vegan restaurants in Budapest–Vegazzi Specialty Pizzeria. Greeted by a roaring pizza oven, we settled in for a cozy meal. Their menu is short, but each pizza is packed with flavor. I opted for the Pizza Assolo, which started strong with a carmelized onion white wine sauce and perfectly finished with toppings of crunchy green apples, walnuts, and vegan feta. Y’all…I devoured it! And after peeking at my tablemate’s pizzas, I know I have to return to try all of the different options.

This was a great introduction for Budapest vegan food–I can’t wait to go back! It was quite popular (we almost didn’t get a seat!) so I’d suggest making reservations.

Enjoy!
