Budapest Creatives MeetUp

Isn’t it great to meet people who help your creative visions come true? It didn’t take long after meeting Jordan of BudapestCreativeHub to realize that we both had a similar dream: finding a community of creatives in Budapest.

Coming from Seattle, there was such a well established community of creatives. If I wanted to go shoot, or I wanted to be a part of someone else’s project, I knew exactly which group to post in, or which meet up to go to! In Budapest, I didn’t know where to look for that connection–a group that was English speaking and focused on content creation.

So…we made a Meetup ourselves! Hours of planning and replanning and Google-doc editing and handout-printing later, we finally had a structure: a Meetup with a focused conversation on branding + planning methods, followed by networking.

Our goal was to give a place for Budapest creatives to find each other, to connect and form collaborations.

We booked a table at the fabulously stylish Béla bar and waited. The result was more than we could have hoped for! (And we were so busy chatting that we forgot to take pics, whoops, haha)

Y’all, I admit I was nervous! It was like waiting to see if anyone would show up to your birthday party. But in the end, we had to find extra seats!

People gave such good insights on the topic of branding, and we were able to share how we struggled with our respective businesses and swap tips on which creative methods help us be the most productive.

Pin it for later!

We got to meet and mingle and swap ideas with people from all over the spectrum, from bloggers, graphic designers, illustrators, photographers and more. Here were people in the midst of freelancing or trying to get it off the ground, looking for people who understood it. Freelancing can get a bit lonely after all, so it’s so good to connect with others!

Anyways, long story short, Budapest creatives connected, networked, and made plans for the future. I’m so glad to have connected with Jordan to get this event off the ground! If you find yourself in Budapest, come on by!
