A few weeks ago I put on my favorite white minidress, stepped out into weather that was waaaay too cold for a minidress, and spent the morning frolicking through the PNW with photography power-duo Willie and Kelsey Shaw (of Shaw Photography). It was magical. Here is the photographic evidence.
This shoot was a little bit of a dream realized–I met Kelsey and Willie at an Instameet and have been drooling over their IG page ever since (@ teamshaw.)
Veterans of photography, Willie and Kelsey are both individually talented (I mean, look at their personal Instagrams). But together, you get to see their rhythm, get to be caught up in the excitement as creative energy ebbs and flows.
Their photography captures everything I love about the PNW, and I couldn’t have had a better morning venturing through its beaches and forests with the Shaws. And most preciously, no matter where my travels take me, I know these pictures will remind me of the smell of mist burning off in the mountains, or the feel of crunching over a soft carpet of pine needles, and that for a moment, I’ll feel like I’m a little bit closer to home. And isn’t that what good photographers do? Take pictures that will take you right back to the things you love?
I could go on for ages about how grateful I am to have gotten to be a part of the art of Shaw Photography. But enough of my fangirling, I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Go get lost in their portfolio. By the end you’ll probably be #TeamShaw too.
