“There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.” — C.S. Lewis

Okay, it’s not easy to say this (leading with the heavy stuff rarely is), but here we go: When I was 16, I almost died. In fact, it was a miracle I survived. And, well…I kind of took it personally.

From then on, I made it my mission to live the most spectacular life possible. If you scroll through this blog, you’ll meet different versions of Denae as she does just that.

  • There’s the newly-minted TEFL teacher with a gap-year mindset, seeing Budapest with fresh eyes and traveling around Europe every chance she gets.
  • There’s the budding professional, head over heels in love with Hungary and with building her freelance social media career.
  • Most recently, there’s the Denae who’s landed a remote job in marketing and copywriting. She gets excited about SEO, cheap RyanAir flights, and rediscovering her home base of Budapest with a new energy.

You see, I believe that travel is the best education there is, and that it should be accessible to everyone. Remote work is a golden ticket to see the world, and I’m learning firsthand that you don’t need an expensive master’s degree to land a location-flexible job. So I’m sharing resources that could help you start your own remote work/digital nomad journey

At the same time, I love helping you explore Budapest. From ruin bars to thermal baths, this city has so much to offer, and I want to help you discover it all. If you’re wondering what to do in Budapest on a visit, or you’re thinking of moving here yourself, I’m your girl!

The Pacific Northwest will always be home, but a passport is a terrible thing to waste. Let’s see where that takes us!
